On Sunday, September 15, UFPA students took part in their very first dance competition at the ‘Born to Perform’ event by ComDance. The school entered four routines: a contemporary troupe, a hip hop troupe, a jazz duo, and a contemporary trio. Every performance was outstanding, and the students displayed pride, professionalism, and amazing support for one another. We couldn’t be prouder of them all!
Alyssa and Chevelle received an honorable mention for their fun, upbeat Under 13 Jazz routine. They stood out in a tough category, competing against several hip hop acts.
Next, our ‘any age’ Hip Hop troupe delivered a strong 2000s-inspired routine and earned third place. This was an impressive achievement for a group of six dancers, especially since they faced teams with up to 30 members!
Following that, our Contemporary troupe took the stage with their unique ‘creepy dolls’ routine and secured another third-place win. Their performance definitely captivated their audience.
In the final section of the competition, our ‘any age’ contemporary trio faced stiff competition but danced beautifully, wrapping up an incredible day.
A huge congratulations to all our competition dancers! A special shoutout to Miss Jess, who choreographed and taught all of the routines. Her dedication and hard work made it all possible.
