Jayson Smart – Director (Morphett Vale & Murray Bridge)

Unlimited Feet Performing Arts is under the Directorship of Mr. Jayson Smart & he has been offering quality tuition to dance students for over 30 years with many former students going onto tertiary training and professional dance careers. Unlimited Feet Performing Arts began in Murray Bridge & Glenunga in 1993 after Jayson purchased the Pamela Phillips School of Ballet and the studio now offers classes in Morphett Vale & Murray Bridge.
Jayson commenced his studies with Kay Cranwell, Gwen Mackey and Susan Taylor in Adelaide before furthering his studies in London and New York. On returning to Adelaide, Jayson began studying at the University of Adelaide, completing a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) in 1989 & a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) in Dance Methodology in 1991 allowing him to teach dance in schools to Year 12 level. He is currently teaching at Reynella East College.
Jayson is a member of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) (London) & the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (COMDANCE). He has been the Chairperson of the South Australian Regional Advisory Panel of the Royal Academy of Dance & has been a member of the Dance Subject Advisory Committee for the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA) & represented studio teachers & dance educationalists for Ausdance – The Australian Dance Council.
Jayson holds the Theatrical, Classical &Tap Teaching Diplomas of the CSTD, the Teaching Certificate & Teaching Diploma of the RAD & is a fully registered member of the RAD, permitting him to enter students for affiliated examinations.
In 2008 Jayson was appointed an examiner for the CSTD & examines students in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Theatrical exams throughout Australia, Asia & North America. He has been appointed as a Practical Teaching Supervisor for the RAD to assess the final unit for new teachers gaining their RAD Teaching Qualification. He has also attained his Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
In 2018, Jayson was awarded the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing Leslie P. Newman Award for “Outstanding Service to Dance”
At Unlimited Feet Performing Arts Jayson teaches the Classical Ballet classes, the Senior and Advanced Tap & Jazz classes & Contemporary classes.
Morphett Vale Team
BA/BED, CSTD (MJ/TC), CSTD (CB/TC)
Tamara is currently teaching Tiny Feet Ballet & Groovers & Classical classes with Unlimited Feet Performing Arts & has been teaching since 2014. She is also a high school English & HASS teacher. When Tamara isn’t teaching, you might find her baking in the kitchen with her dog, Rory & cat, Luna looking on.
CSTD (TAP TC)
Karena currently teaches Tiny Feet Ballet & Groovers, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop & Theatrical at Unlimited Feet Performing Arts, as well as running her own dance studio. Having trained at Ecole de Ballet & Unlimited Feet her whole life, Karena has a special passion for tap, which she now loves passing onto her own students. Karena has 3 of her own children, Emily, Nataya & Thomas, who keep her busy when she’s not teaching!
BA/BED (DRAMA), RAD (CBTS)
Sara studied at Ecole de Ballet (now Unlimited Feet Performing Arts, Morphett Vale) from the age of 4 & has gone on to have a successful career teaching dance & the performing arts. She currently teaches the Limber & Pointe classes to our senior students. Sara is also a primary school performing arts teacher & is heavily involved in South Australian Wakakirri Dance Competition. Sara is also a self-confessed Disney tragic – she has been to 3 of the 6 Disneylands!
BA & SECONDARY TEACHING DIPLOMA
Val is the former Director of Ecole de Ballet (now Unlimited Feet Performing Arts, Morphett Vale) & has been teaching at the studio for over 31 years! She specialises in teaching Adult Jazz & Tap. Val admits that her life is all about dancing, dancing & more dancing however she does also enjoy afternoon tea at the Windsor Hotel Melbourne.
Jess is an Australian actress with experience working professionally in film, theatre and TV. Since 2011, Jess has landed multiple lead roles in theatre productions, including The Artful Dodger from Oliver, The Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz, and Brigitta from The Sound of Music. From there, Jess graduated SA Casting Acting School in 2015, where she underwent acting training for 3 years. Jess has since worked on Channel 7’s TV set with Rebecca Gibney in Wanted (2018), as well as having a lead role in an internationally distributed feature film, Going for Gold (2017). Jess has recently worked as the lead role in a short film, In The Wake (2019).
Jess is currently studying a Bachelor of Education/Arts, with her focus majoring in drama.
ADVANCED BALLET (CSTD)
Tara currently teaches private lessons in Classical Ballet & Contemporary & has been teaching with Unlimited Feet Performing Arts since 2018. Tara has also completed a degree in Human Resource Management.
ACROBATIC ARTS MODULE 1, CSTD (JAZZ, CLASSICAL BALLET, THEATRICAL & TAP)
After 4 years as an Assistant Teacher at the Morphett Vale studio, Lauren began teaching Tiny Feet Groovers & Acrobatics in 2020. Lauren has been studying many styles of dance at Unlimited Feet Performing Arts for over 10 years & has undertaken exams in a wide range of disciplines. When Lauren isn’t at the studio, you’ll find her playing volleyball or bingeing on “Friends” or “Full House”.
Renee teaches our Singing & Voice lessons at the Morphett Vale studio. She is in her final year of uni, studying a Bachelor of Teaching & Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Music. Renee has been involved in both Youth Theatre & the Australian Youth Choir. When she isn’t working, studying or teaching she is an avid reader.
Murray Bridge Team
ARAD, RAD (CBTS), RAD (RTS), CSTD (CB/TC)
Brooke has trained in all facets of dance and has successfully completed her RAD exams up to and including Advanced 2 (ARAD) & CSTD majors vocational ballet examinations, before continuing on to successfully complete her Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in 2014. With over 10 years teaching experience, Brooke has continued to study classical ballet teaching, also completing her certificate of ballet teaching with CSTD in 2017.
CERT III (DANCE), ELEMENTARY BALLET (CSTD)
Jess is one of Unlimited Feet Performing Arts “all-rounders”, teaching Tiny Feet Ballet & Groovers, Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Hip-Hop. 2019 marked Jess’ first year as a fully-fledged teacher with Unlimited Feet, after assisting with classes since 2013. When Jess did her first ever dance class she refused to join in because she didn’t have the right clothes!
Jessica has been training at Unlimited Feet Performing Arts since the age of 3 and has completed her RAD ballet exams up to Advanced Foundation and CSTD Ballet to Elementary as well as CSTD Tap exams to Gold Star (Honours) & Modern Jazz Grade 8 (Honours). Jessi also holds the CSTD Modern Jazz Teaching Certificate. Jessi was a student teacher at UFPA for 5 years before she started taking her own classes at UFPA in 2012. She has two gorgeous children. Fun fact: Jessi can remember nearly all of her dances from over 20 years of dance concerts!
Abby currently teaches Hip-Hop, Jazz & Contemporary & has been a part of the Unlimited Feet Performing Arts teaching group since 2018. When she’s not in the studio, Abby is studying Event Management. Abby loves everything about dogs & would love to one day own a Golden Retriever!
CERT IV DANCE & CSTD (ELEMENTARY)
This year marks Prudence’s 5th year teaching with Unlimited Feet Performing Arts – she currently teaches Contemporary, Jazz, Tap & Hip-Hop. Prudence keeps very busy when she’s not dancing, working on the family dairy farm, studying nursing & working as a Medical Receptionist. She also loves sewing – hello costumes!!
If you’ve ever looked for a singing teacher who loves anchovies, then look no further than Peta! This salty seafood loving songstress has been teaching with Unlimited Feet Performing Arts since 2018. Peta is also the vocal coach for the Primary Schools Music Festival of SA & has over 25 years’ experience performing with the Murray Bridge Players & Singers.
Don’t get on the wrong side of Taylor – she is studying to be a Police Officer! She has taught at Unlimited Feet Murray Bridge since 2018 & teaches the Acrobatics classes. Taylor also works in food & hospitality when she isn’t studying or teaching.
